Local blog Jackson Jambalaya is reporting that Saleem Baird, aide to Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS), was arrested by JPD Vice-Narcotics for running an illegal strip club at the Level 3 thug bar in downtown Jackson. See Wicker Aide Arrested for Strip Show at Club.
During a routine sweep of bars in Jackson, agents observed butt-naked strippers performing at the Level 3 in violation of city ordinance. This club is only 1 block away from the King Edward apartments and Standard Life flats. The agents arrested the strippers, as well as club manager Saleem Baird for running the illegal strip club.
As the DJT previously reported, when Saleem Baird is not running his thug bar/strip club, he serves as a full-time aide to Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker.
Once again, Kingfish proves that he is the best damn investigative reporter in Jackson.
Bravo Zulu to JPD Vice for putting a stop to this crap. These officers have a dangerous job, and their efforts to clean up our neighborhood are not unnoticed by downtown Jackson residents.
Way to go JPD! It feels good to give those guys Kudos, you are right, their jobs are dangerous.

ReplyDeleteFunny 9:15. I think the original question implied that JPD should clean up all of the downtown trash and not show favoritism to Fire for whatever reason. Until recently, has Fire ever been closed? And they do/did have a liquor license - (didn't they?) - which may present a problem with any nudity, whether "naked"/"buck nekkid" (for Rankin County purposes) or just topless, as evidenced by multiple photographs that nobody wants to see again (please no more links) and white trash bragging of being present for events such as the "calendar photo shoot." (Quotations for the humor in attempting to make anything the trailer park queen and Chip Matthews are involved in sound legitimate). Rumor is they've shut the doors at Fire for good, so this entire discussion may be moot and DJT may have another victory. Now maybe we can get back to cleaning up the rest of downtown instead of just this blog.

How bout the fact that Jackson's very own Saleem Baird from roger wicker fame is renting John Dennery's former restraunt from him (known as the mansion by our local black college kids) for capitol city classic weekend. Thats Nov. 19th, I think its bad business from Dennery to rent his building to this trash. This means he will be throwing to ghetto bashes in downtown on the same night. Then not to mention that there illegally operating the 3rd floor of level 3 w/o proper permits. They only have 1 staircase going up & down w/ no fire escape.
